Privacy

Last updated 15 September 2026. Loopsu Pty Ltd, Sydney, Australia. ABN 58 676 832 894.

Two separate things collect data here: this website, and the Loopsu iPhone app. They are covered separately below because they behave very differently.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist we store your email address, the date you joined, and when we have sent you the confirmation email. That is the whole record.

  • Why: to email you when there is something to see — an app you can install, a working band, or a result worth reading. Joining also gets you one email confirming you are on the list, with a link to leave it.
  • Lawful basis: your consent, given by ticking the box. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Who else sees it: the list lives in a database on Loopsu’s own server, hosted in a Vultr data centre in Australia, and no mailing-list company holds a copy. To send you email we use Google Workspace, which already hosts our own mailbox: each message is handed to Google one address at a time to deliver, so Google carries messages to you without ever receiving the list. Google keeps delivery records, your address among them, on servers outside Australia. Nobody else sees it. If we ever use another email-delivery service, it will be named here before it is used. Your address is never sold, rented, or used to target advertising to you on other services.
  • How long: until you unsubscribe, or until we abandon the product — whichever comes first. Every email has a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the record rather than flagging it. Backup copies of the list are deleted after 14 days, so a removed address leaves those too.

To see what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted, email hello@loopsu.com. We will do it and confirm within 30 days, usually the same week.

This website

This section covers loopsu.com. Our consulting pages at consulting.loopsu.com are a separate, older site that still loads its stylesheet and typefaces from third-party services; we are moving it onto our own server, and until that is done this paragraph does not describe it.

On loopsu.com: no analytics, no advertising pixels, no cookies set by us, and no third-party fonts or scripts — every file this site serves, typefaces included, comes from our own server. Loading a page here tells no other company you did.

That server runs on Vultr infrastructure in Australia and keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for a short period, for security and abuse handling.

The app

This part is short, and it is short by design rather than by omission.

  • The app has no account. There is nothing to sign up for and no identity attached to your data.
  • It has no cloud sync and no server. Your heartbeat data, your sessions and your morning measurements are stored in the app's own database on your iPhone.
  • It sends no telemetry or analytics anywhere.
  • The strap talks to your phone directly over Bluetooth. Nothing it measures passes through us.
  • Export is yours. The app writes your data out as plain files that you control. Deleting the app deletes the database with it — which also means an export is the only backup, and that is your call, not ours.

Heart-rate data is sensitive health information under Australian privacy law and under the GDPR. The reason this section is so short is that the current version keeps that data on your device and never asks for it.

If a future version adds anything that leaves your phone, it will be opt-in, it will be described here before it ships, and this page will say when it changed.

Children

This product is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their details.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to receive a copy in a portable form and to complain to your national data protection authority. In Australia the Australian Privacy Principles apply and complaints can go to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Start with us though — hello@loopsu.com — because we can usually just do it.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects what we collect or who sees it, we will date the change at the top and, for anything material, email the list.
